World of Warcraft Wiki
About WoWWiki
WoWWiki is a wiki dedicated to cataloguing Blizzard Entertainment's Warcraft Universe (with a focus, though not priority, on World of Warcraft), covering the entire Warcraft series of games, RPG reference books, strategy guides, novels and other sources.
The wiki is a flexible, user-editable web-based database of information made up entirely of user contributions, and uses MediaWiki software.
WoWWiki is not a copy of Wikipedia - we do many things differently - but we would like to think that we're aiming toward similar high standards where describing game mechanics, geography, in-game occurrences and lore.
The WoW community often uses slang terms, which is in part reflected here. In addition, you may occasionally find information here on some articles that is decidedly not
NPOV.
Wiki is not a religion here, it is a way of editing.
We strive to be as 'lore-neutral' as possible. We do not decide what is 'official' and what isn't - that is
Blizzard's job. We record the known information and try to present all sides of any valid controversy.

Uncyclopedia

Oscar Wilde on Uncyclopedia
Unicyclopedia is the official encyclopedia of Unicycles. It has all the information on unicycles that you will ever need. (But if you ever need any more, you can just add it because it's a wiki.) Unicyclopedia is a place for unicycle enthusiasts to share all their greatest unicycle secrets! Go 1 Wheelers!!!
For the religious among us who choose to believe lies, the
so-called experts at
Wikipedia have an article about
Uncyclopedia.
Uncyclopedia is an encyclopedia full of misinformation and utter lies. You might say it puts the psych! in encyclopedia. It's sort of like Congress or Parliament, but unlike Congress or Parliament, we do have a sense of humor. Nonetheless, this is one of the only factual pages, before everything turns into a puddle of utter confusion and disarray. Savor it. And for the love of Sophia, we know you like disarray, (and confusion) but stop adding confusion to this non-confusing page which leads to confusion, and possibly disarray. continue reading...

Encyclopedia Dramatica
Please read our disclaimer for terms of use for the site.
Purpose
Done in the spirit of Ambrose Bierce's The Devil's Dictionary, Encyclopedia dramatica's purpose is to provide a central catalog for the e-public to view parody and satirie of drama, memes, e-pals and other interesting happenings on the internets.
The goal is to provide comprehensive, reference-style parody, to poke fun at everyone and everything on the internet.
While the articles themselves are mostly satirical jabs at Internet users (both individually and in groups) and phenomena, bear in mind that the Encyclopedia Dramatica itself is a parody of a much less funny online encyclopedia. As such, ED articles tend to make fun of the supposed objectivity and accuracy, elitism, and stupid edit wars of such sites. In other words, expect blatant, biased lies, and expect boring truths to get deleted quickly.
ED's third purpose is to catalogue Internets phenomena. In this role, it's actually a fairly good reference for dramatic events and things like memes and netspeak, provided you bear in mind the first two purposes and take what you learn with a Girlmecha-sized grain of salt.

Marvel Database Project Wiki
The Marvel Database Project came online March 18th, 2005 as a non-profit site, with the goal of becoming the largest online database pertaining only to Marvel Comics. This site, aka the MDP, is the creation of Jamie Hari. MarvelDatabase.com uses the latest technology to present the information in a visually appealing and easy to navigate format. Thanks to the open source software, provided by the MediaWiki foundation, we are able to extend support of this reference to the Marvel Comics fanbase.
The Database was created initially from reference materials such as The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe (aka OHMU) and various online sources. For a more complete list of references, although not exhaustive, see our Sources page.
Now that the Database is underway, the updates to our site are coming in from all sides. This often means a hard time when monitoring where this information comes from. We encourage users to list their references on the page containing the content they submitted. This unfortunately isn't always the easiest task. Also, we often get original material written by the user and hence may not have a specific reference.
We very much discourage plagiarism and if appropriately notified, will be more than glad to remove, update or appropriately credit the offending material.

LyricWiki
Basics of LyricWiki
LyricWiki is a free site which is a single source where anyone can go to get reliable lyrics for any song from any artist without being hammered by invasive ads. Music is a large part of many people's lives, and we feel there should be a place where people can go to just look up the lyrics to songs. No hassles.
LyricWiki is the most comprehensive site ever created for lyrics. Through automated scripts, public domain lyrics were found across the internet and reliable results were mined and formatted to provide the base of more than 430,000 songs that started the site off.
Contributions
Like most wiki sites, the content of LyricWiki depends on its community of people throughout the world who contribute the lyrics to the site and vigilantly protect the site from vandalism and much lesser offenses like simple typos. Anyone can join, and most everyone has some song lyrics that they love which they can help bring to the world. We welcome you with open arms! For more information, refer to Contributing to LyricWiki.

WikiTravel
Wikitravel (http://wikitravel.org) is a project to create a free, complete, up-to-date and reliable world-wide travel guide. It is built in collaboration by Wikitravellers from around the globe.
The project was begun in July of 2003 by the two founders, Evan and Maj. It was inspired by Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, and by the needs of travellers for timely information that long book-publishing cycles can't seem to meet. In April 2006, Wikitravel and World66, another travel wiki, were acquired by Internet Brands, Inc., an operator of consumer information Web sites.
Wikitravel is built with the spirit of sharing knowledge that makes travel so enjoyable. Whenever travellers meet each other on the road, they swap info about the places they came from and ask questions about places they're going. We want to make it easy to share that knowledge and let others share it; our copyleft license means that the facts you know can spread far and wide.
To create Wikitravel we use a tool (or a process, or a technology) called Wiki which lets any Internet reader create, update, edit, and illustrate any article on the Web site. continue reading...

Wikiversity
Wikiversity is a center of online learning.
Ok, I don't really get it. What’s the point of Wikiversity?
Wikiversity is a
wiki where participants collaborate to learn things while creating a variety of
web pages,
learning aids, support systems and networks of people with similar goals.
Web pages and learning aids about what?
Whatever people are interested in....the participants learn while they participate....
learn by doing is the general approach. Much of the doing is organized around
learning projects. One such project is currently protoyping a Voice over Internet Protocol (
VoIP) system to allow conferencing, seminars, distributed jamming and other distributed voice communications activities.
What is the end product it's trying to make?
Our sister projects make
encyclopedia articles and
textbooks, at Wikiversity we work to make a fun and productive learning environment that supports the learning goals of our participants. Learning comes first at Wikiversity.
I guess, we'll see....?
Wikiversity is an experiment in how to use wiki technology to support online learning. As Jimmy Wales said at
Wikimania 2006: We should run small experiments, tests, see what works, what doesn't, and be prepared to be flexible and change, and not be too locked into stone about how things should work
Where are the courses?
Wikiversity develops and hosts many types of modular learning resources, which may be structured as part of a course or as a stand-alone activity.

Memory Alpha is a wiki, meaning that any fan may edit any article by clicking on the edit this page link that appears in every wiki article that is not designated as a protected page. This makes it very easy for any fan to share their knowledge and insight of the Star Trek universe and add to the collected information available.
The project was started in November 2003 by Harry Doddema and Dan Carlson. It was inspired by Wikipedia, a free, open-source encyclopedia, and by the interest of many Star Trek fans in a website that provides timely and useful reference information on the Star Trek universe. There are currently 25,320 articles that are being worked on.
All of the site's content is covered by a Creative Commons License. Contributions remain the property of their creators, while the copyleft licensing ensures that the content will always remain freely distributable and reproducible. continue reading...

WikiChristian is a free Encyclopedia of biblical Christianity that anyone can contribute to. It started in May 2004 and now contains 54,482 articles. Learn How to edit pages, experiment in the sandbox, and visit our Community Portal to find out how you can contribute to WikiChristian.
Vision of WikiChristian
WikiChristian is both an Encyclopedia and a wiki community. WikiChristian is set up with the belief that every Christian, regardless of age, race, education, and gender has something of value to offer! With time we hope to see it become a useful reference on any topic related to Christianity. Its policy is that believers or non-believers can write articles. These articles do not need to be neutral point of view (personal opinions can be voiced), as long as the author of the article makes it clear what his or her background is.
We also intend to be a reference point for factual information, original t
